Emmie is a multi-award winning costume designer and educator, based in Atlanta, GA, bringing over 15 years of professional experience in theatre, film, television, and educational settings.
She holds a BFA in Costume Design (minor in Cinema Studies) from Savannah College of Art & Design, and throughout her career she's combined creative practice with teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development.
As a practicing designer, she has collaborated with regional theatres, educational institutions, and film/TV projects. She has also served as a guest designer or lecturer at universities like Auburn, Georgia State, and Columbus State.
In the classroom, she's developed college courses, led workshops, and guided students through hands-on costuming and sewing techniques. She's taught sewing and design for youth and educational theatre settings, bridging industry practice with learning environments.
Emmie's approach is holistic: She believes in empowering students to understand storytelling through costume and to connect technical skill with creative vision. She is passionate about nurturing the next generation of costume artists.
Emmie is open to contracted Costume Design opportunities, full-time and adjunct faculty opportunities in costume design, as well as guest lecturing, guest designing, curriculum development, and collaborative academic projects.
